MEC Update: Thank You, Ken Giesbrecht

A message from your KEW Master Executive Council
July 15, 2025

Fellow pilots,

We want to take this opportunity to thank Ken Giesbrecht for his contribution as our Director of Flight Operations.

Ken joined Keewatin Air in July of 2019 to assist with the Company’s pilot training programs. He assisted with collaborating with your Negotiating Committee to craft our current Collective Agreement (CA#1).

Ken always had the best interest of our pilots in mind with his role, and worked tirelessly with the Association to improve our working conditions and quality of life.

We wish Ken all the best as he transitions to his new role as Keewatin’s Director of Operational Compliance.

With the change in management, we welcome our new DFO, Jan McNish. Jan joined Keewatin this spring as a PC-24 Captain, having come from many years at Calm Air.

Congratulations, Jan, on your new role, and we look forward to fostering a positive relationship to further enhance the working conditions and betterment of our members.

    The Negotiating Committee and ALPA staff members met with the company at the NMB offices in Washington DC last week. To say that the company’s negotiating position was disappointing is a gross understatement. It was a slap in the face, or an “FU” to Frontier pilots.
